Who We Are
"A Legacy of Love, A Future of Possibilities."
The Athena-Valerie Foundation (AVF) was founded on the values of compassion, resilience, and service embodied by two extraordinary women: Athena, a beloved grandmother, and Valerie, a treasured aunt. Their love, strength, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others inspired the creation of this organization and continue to guide our mission every day.
Founded by an educator, AVF was established to provide financial assistance, resources, and support to individuals and families facing life's challenges. We believe that everyone deserves a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. Too often, financial hardship becomes a barrier to education, stability, wellness, and personal growth. Our goal is to help remove those barriers and create pathways toward a brighter future.
AVF proudly supports first-generation college students, single parents, educators, and individuals experiencing homelessness. Through community-driven programs and direct assistance, we strive to provide meaningful support where it is needed most.
Our assistance may include:
• Tuition and educational support
• Emergency financial assistance
• School supplies and academic resources
• Mental health and wellness support
• Community resources and advocacy
At AVF, our mission is simple: to make life easier for people who need a helping hand and to provide hope during difficult seasons. We understand that life is not always fair, and many hardworking individuals face obstacles beyond their control. By offering support, encouragement, and resources, we aim to help people regain stability, pursue their goals, and build better futures for themselves and their families.
The Athena-Valerie Foundation is more than a nonprofit—it is a legacy of love. Through every scholarship awarded, bill paid, resource provided, and life impacted, we honor Valerie's memory and celebrate Athena's living example of kindness, generosity, and strength.
Together, we are creating opportunities, restoring hope, and helping people move forward—one life at a time.
